The Film:
Even in the 21st century, the girl child in India continues to be looked down upon by a highly discriminating society. Holding a bold lens to this hapless plight is the animation short film ‘Chamki’ which highlights the harsh treatment meted out to the protagonist. The film uses a strong metaphor to voice a strong concern to stop the discrimination and allow the girl child the freedom to pursue her dreams and aspirations without prejudice.
